Pay-per-click is an advertising model on search engines,advertising networks, and content websites/Blogs where advertisers only pay when a user clicks on an ad to visit the advertiser’s website.
Advertisers bid on keywords they predict their target market.When a user types a query matching advertiser’s keyword list or views a page with relavent content,the advertisers ad will be shown.These ads are called Sponsered ads or Sponsered Links shown in the search results page.
Pay-per-click ad is an ad shown on a content network websites.In this type, ad networks like Google Adsense and Yahoo Publisher network attempt to provide ads which are relavent to the content of the page where they appear or a search action is involved.
Many Companies like Google Adwords, Yahoo search Marketing and Microsoft Adcenter are the Largest Network Operators.CPC (Cost-per-click) depends on the search engines and network.
CLICK-FRAUD can easily be detected by the ad-networks using automated hitech systems. The Publisher will be banned or his website will be terminated from serving the network ads if CLICK FRAUD is detected.
